The Traveling Alta Gracia Poster:   10 / 16 / 2012

Barnes and Noble at Rutgers University celebrated their grand opening last month, and with it came the signing of a giant Alta Gracia poster. This wasn’t just any poster though.

During the event, students and customers alike were inwrite down what they would like to say to Alta Gracia’s workersvited to . Many expressed their gratitude with “Thank Yous”, but others wrote down words of encouragement like “I Support Living Wage!”

We’re thrilled to say the signed poster has finally made its way to the Alta Gracia factory.

“Estamos bien agradecidos por el apoyo de todos los estudiantes en la Universidad de Rutgers. Gracias por sus palabras tan lindas,” dijo Maritza Vargas, Secretaria General del sindicato de Alta Gracia.

Translated: “We’re very thankful for the support from the students at Rutgers University. Thanks for your beautiful words,” said Maritza Vargas, Secretary General of Alta Gracia’s Union.

We second Maritza’s comment and would love to give a big thank you to Rutgers University bookstore for doing this. Here are Alta Gracia workers Josefina, Yenny, Ricardo, Santa, Pablo and Yolanda holding up the framed sign.

Viva Alta Gracia!
