Rutgers student, José Medrano takes an inside look at the Alta Gracia Project and tells our story on RU T.V. This video does a great job of explaining what Alta Gracia is doing nationwide, and how it’s impacting the factory workers in the Dominican Republic. Featured in the piece is Knights Apparel CEO and Alta Gracia founder, Joe Bozich speaking with a group of panelists at Rutgers earlier this year, discussing the concepts surrounding fair labor sourcing outside of the United States. Bozich says, “Alta Gracia apparel means freedom from poverty through job creation, living wages and education." He continued, “I have had workers tell me that because of this job, they can now afford to send their son or daughter to school and get an education.”
The Alta Gracia team is so excited to see students producing these projects to help educate and mobilize other campuses on our work. José pushes a final call to action to the student body, “Make sure you support their cause and spread the word so we can help more of our brothers and sisters overseas receive a just wage.” Watch the video here below!
